Zero Cloud Document Uploads

Your PDF and EPUB files are rendered and text-parsed locally in your workstation with on-device processing. No central book repos are created.

Local-First Storage

Highlights, reading notes, sentence coordinates, and reading streaks live in private on-device storage on your machine, accessible offline.

Zero Tracking or Ad Networks

1. Our Core Privacy Philosophy

At NeuroRead Pro, we believe that reading is an intimate cognitive endeavor. What you read, annotate, highlight, or reflect upon represents your private intellectual capital. Traditional SaaS applications send documents to central cloud servers; NeuroRead Pro inverts this model: we bring the application logic to your local data.

2. Local-First Processing Architecture

All core application state operates within your workstation instance via secure local storage:

  • Local Document Vault: Stores uploaded document binaries, precomputed sentence coordinate bounding boxes, generated covers, and 4-color annotations.
  • Settings & State Store: Stores active user theme preferences, typography settings, playback rates, and session resumes.

3. Information We NEVER Collect or Store

Strict Non-Collection Boundaries:
  • We do NOT collect, read, or store the textual content of your imported PDF/EPUB books.
  • We do NOT track your personal reading highlights, private notes, or active recall quiz scores.
  • We do NOT profile your reading speed or attention span for commercial advertising.
  • We do NOT sell user contact lists to marketing affiliates.

4. Neural TTS Synthesis & Audio Privacy

When utilizing the System Voice, synthesis is executed 100% on-device by your operating system speech audio daemon.

When utilizing the Private Neural Audio Engine, sentence text fragments are synthesized on-device or routed through your private dedicated workspace with end-to-end encryption. Audio synthesis files are stored in your private local device cache and never retained for commercial AI model training.

5. Multi-User Workspace Separation

NeuroRead Pro supports multiple readers on a single workstation (e.g., student partners or family members). Each profile maintains an isolated namespace in local on-device storage, preventing cross-profile leakage of reading progress, annotations, or personal information.

6. Data Portability & 1-Click Database Purge

You own your data unconditionally:

  • 1-Click Obsidian Export: Export your highlights, notes, and study summaries into clean Markdown (.md) at any time.
  • Complete Database Clearance: In Settings > Storage & Database, you can permanently erase all books, audio cache, and profile data with a single click.

7. GDPR, CCPA & Global Compliance

Because NeuroRead Pro processes documents locally and does not collect tracking telemetry, we adhere strictly to the principle of Data Minimization under GDPR Article 5(1)(c) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
